Executive Management Team
Eric J. Rumsey
President
First Advantage CREDCO
As president of First Advantage CREDCO, Eric Rumsey oversees the day-to-day operations of the leading provider of specialized credit reports for the automotive market. This includes credit information solutions for the recreational vehicle, marine and other consumer lending industries.
In the early 1980s, Rumsey began his career in the automotive industry as a finance and insurance (F&I) manager at an Oldsmobile dealership in Denver, Colorado. His hands-on experience proved invaluable when he moved on to become a product manager for COIN Dealership Systems, an F&I software provider. During his 13-year career with COIN, Rumsey was responsible for the partnership that launched CREDCO into the automotive market.
In 1992, Rumsey joined First Advantage CREDCO as vice president of Automotive Services, where he focused on expanding the company’s market penetration in the automotive industry. A year later, he played a key role in securing a strategic relationship with The Reynolds and Reynolds Company (NYSE: REY).
Rumsey has been instrumental in diversifying the company’s automotive solutions. His accomplishments include facilitating the acquisition of Credit Management Solutions, Inc. (CMSI) in 2001; the formation of Vehicle Title Insurance, LLC with Experian and the creation of the automotive industry’s first title insurance product, TitleGuard, in 2001-2002; and forging an equity position in DealerTrack, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRAK) with the merger of CMSI’s Credit Online subsidiary in 2003. Under Rumsey’s leadership, First Advantage CREDCO has grown significantly from an entrepreneurial start-up to one of the leading providers of specialized credit reports and consumer information solutions in the automotive industry.
